Progress is still slow on the house, but I feel we made a good dent this weekend. We finished priming and painting our middle room which will be for our foster child. We're a little behind schedule on that whole process, we still haven't taken the classes yet, or sent in our application! I'm trying to line up a job first before we send in our application. I also want to finish our house before we do our homestudy, but finding time to finish things is difficult. Now that I'm newly unemployed it should be easier to find time, but I'm still going back to watch Anna the majority of this week :)

Don't be fooled by the nice natural sunlight in the before picture. We did like the color of the room to start with, but the walls were too dirty and I didn't like the color for a little girls room. Instead I went with spearmint? Hmmm. In the morning the color looked amazing and I gave myself a pat on the back for choosing such and awesome color. Then the afternoon/evening rolled around and our eyes were blinded by neon spearmint green. Imagine a stick of spearmint gum, and then imagine that color all over your walls. Yikes! The picture below does not capture the true fluorescence of the evening hours.

We have toys coming out our ears already, and not enough storage/organization for them. If you look real close at the bottom shelf you can see...oh what's that? A toy chainsaw? Yes, it is a toy chainsaw and it's one of my favorite garage sale finds! When I was a child my sisters all took ballet and piano lessons and what did I do? I romped around the woods with my toy chainsaw! Whether it is a good idea to give a toy chainsaw to a troubled child remains to be seen...

Next on our to do list is to plaster the entry way hall, prime and paint upstairs and downstairs halls, and finish off our stairs.
